Sample Answer

The three maps illustrate the changes that occurred in Brindell and its surrounding areas from 1800 to 2000.

Overall, Brindell underwent a transformation from an agricultural community into a thriving industrial town with mixed-use functions over the two centuries.

In 1800, Brindell was a small agricultural town located in the southwest of the River Stour, with farmland for crops to the north and grazing land to the east. A wooded area was situated at the northeast of the town.

By 1900, significant changes were made. The grazing land was converted into an industrial zone, and the southern part of the grazing area saw the development of Bun Hill village for workers. The industrialization of Brindell began during this period.

In 2000, Brindell expanded dramatically, almost doubling in size. Bun Hill Park replaced the farmland to the north, and the industrial areas continued to grow. Bun Hill also expanded, and new industries were established east of the village.
